Green Team reach Belgrade
The Green Team have reached Belgrade with a severley beaten car, in need of desperate repairs. We have had broken piston rings, broken starter motors and an alternator that won't charge the battery. Luckily we have managed to find a garage who specialises in 2cv's,thanks to the 2CV club of belgradee called aklub , and it should be fixed by saturday afternoon.
We have experienced terrential downpours, blistering sun, thundering wind, as well as the majority of garages in Prague centre.
We are cautiously optimistic that we will reach ulaanblator, however our next big target is the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, which we need to reach by the 30th in order to stay within our visa limits.
Mark was taken sick today, after spending most of the night bent over the toilet bowl...sexy, he is now feeling better after juicing up with Red bull and painkillers!
We said goodbye to the two aussie girls, team walkabout, who we were in convoy with, as they need to obtain their kazak visas asap. We will meet up in Istanbul, but first we will take in the pleasures of belgrade,
ahem.
A few special mentions:
- Nenad, who was a great host when we stayed over with him;
- Boyanne who managed to find a 2cv garage in belgrade;
- and a certain Stanislav Zizka, who provided unrivalled translation skills when we were struggling in Prague.
