The Green team are proud to link a small primary school from England's Northwest with a School in Mongolia.
Elmridge Prmiary School in Hale-Barn a suburb of Manchester has been linked to follow our trip and make new friends out in Mongolia. Thanks to Mercy-Corp's senior communications Officer Anna Clarkson the school are now twinned with a school in Dundgobi.
The School in mongolia is supported by the TAN project of Mercy Corps Mongolia.- The school was first established in 1939 with only 12 students and 1 teachers, based in 3 gers (traditional housing like a tent,felt covered). Since then it gradually expanded and had the largest number of students in 1975-1990 reaching to 400-500 children.
Today there are currently 226 children studying in the school of whom 60% of herders children.
